Volunteering at HCA

We spent 2 months during September and October 2025. The Beach House was very quiet and with not much to do in the town you do need to slow down and enjoy the peace. The people are friendly and the town feels safe. There are rules to the house which are quite restrictive but are there for safety and to protect the reputation so be prepared to come home early!

If speak Spanish you will find the classes easier. We do not speak fluently and found that we were a little isolated at first. The children are adorable and love creative lively lessons. There us a lot to do in the local area. We went away most weekends. If you are older like us it can be difficult to connect with the Interns who are all early 20s. I think it suits younger people who can speak some Spanish.
