My Experience in Grenoble as a Computer Science and Cognitive Science student

CEA CAPA offers a very unique program because they enable you to participate in an internship while going abroad. It was very helpful in my personal and professional growth because you are placed into an internship within your field. As someone who wants to pursue AI and data science, the job market for sophomores in the US is extremely competitive. This gave me the opportunity to land an internship while going abroad. Although I did not get paid the skills and experience were invaluable. Outside of the office it was very nice to be in a CEA CAPA cohort. Going to a foreign country where you don't speak the native language can be very intimidating, but with the other students from CEA CAPA it makes it easier to steadily assimilate. I am still in touch with many of the people I met in Grenoble today, both from the office and my peers. The only minor downside was the internship and research course that I had to take. One of my professors was constantly going on tangents about her personal life instead of teaching, and she ended up assigning all of the work we were supposed to gradually work on throughout the summer in the last two weeks. However, overall I highly recommend this program. Going on the excursions provided by CEA CAPA along with the group were some of the highlights of my trip.
