AMAZING EXPERIENCE AS A VOLUNTEER IN NEPAL

I'm Sonia from Spain. Last June 2014 I was a volunteering teaching English in Ganganagar Secondary School, Patihani area, for two weeks.

Face Nepal is a reliable and organised association that helps a lot to develop nepali communities in terms of education, social and environmental subjects. They welcomed me since the first day in Kathmandu and looked after me until the last day in the school. It was easy to communicate with them.

Teaching in the governmental School was very grateful and interesting for me. I loved to see their smiles in their faces and their enthusiam to meet someone from a different culture and learn new things.
I also visited some of the projects Face Nepal runs in Community Learning Centres in very rural areas, improving infraestructures in Universities, creating new schools, etc. I can affirm they are transparent and the small amount of money you shoud donate for the volunteering it is completely worth and really useful for them.

At the same time I was leaving with a lovely nepali family in the village and it was a very nice experience. People in the village were very friendly and polite with me all the time. At home they took care of me as a member of the family and we exchanged knowledge from our different cultures. I miss them!

I really recommend everybody to do this experience. It was a pleasure to be able to do a good contribution to nepali people related to the school and village and being part of this organisation even if it was for a short time. They are amazing people with good hearts and values for life. You will return with your mind more open and appreciate how lucky you are.
