Great life decision

I took the Alltracks off piste course as part of a career break. It was one of the best decisions I have made.
The course was a mix of first rate ski coaching from senior CSIA instructors, avalanche safety courses (AST levels 1 and 2) which included back country touring days focussing on route planning and decision making, and a two day cat skiing trip in the Hurley Pass.
We were very fortunate with the conditions (great snow always means a great time) but, snow aside, the course was well organised and involved a good mix of people from diverse backgrounds and locations. There were a lot of young people on a GAP year but also a number of people at a similar stage to me - taking time out after working for a period - and a few older participants (with children who could have been on their GAP year).
The accommodation was well appointed and conveniently located. I would certainly recommend the programme to anyone interested in ski improvement, an introduction to back country touring or just general shredding.
