During the second semester of my second year of bachelor I had to do an internship abroad (I live in France). I decided to go to Uganda for 4 months. The family I'm staying with has been and is still really nice to me, and they make me feel at home.
During the first half of my internship I was an English teacher for P2 and P3. I was approximately at UYWEFA school from 9am until 5pm, but I was usually only teaching two hours per day. The rest of the time I worked on the fundraising campaign which aims to raise money in for buying the land on which UYWEFA's buildings are.
During school vacation, I travelled across Uganda and Rwanda during approximately 2/3 weeks.
The second part of my stay here will be more focused on UYWEFA's organisation and administration. I am still working on the fundraising campaign as well, but I am not a teacher anymore.
My overall appreciation of this internship is pretty good, Ugandans are usually friendly and welcoming and I have met really nice people here.
The kids at school are all great, and they deserve the best !!
