About Program

Live along side First Things Foundation field workers for 6 weeks in the historic village of Ude, perched in the Meskhetian foothills of modern Samtskhe-Javakheti, Georgia. Experience the foundational bonds of land culture and neighbor through participation in ancient traditions taught by local experts. Visit ancient cave cities and discover how the things lay hidden inside illuminate the history and culture of Georgia. Learn how FTF field workers help generate momentum for local projects from local people, by living simply and listening to the needs of others. Publish blogs on our website about your experience, challenging questions of aid, poverty, the guest/host relationship, and all of the beauty you will no doubt uncover from immersing in a traditional community. Integrate what is found into a new life upon returning home, by conducting a capstone project in your own community with the help of First Things staff.
