First Things Field School

In partnership with First Things Foundation, the Field School is an immersive experience overseas that reconnects you to land, culture, and neighbor. Live in a traditional community overseas for 6 weeks alongside field workers learning how to humble yourself as a guest, the timeless bonds of cultural tradition, and all of the beautiful things that happen when we listen to the needs of others. Our program is handcrafted for gap years searching for what is next for them in life, as well as students looking for an experience that grounds their education. During their stay participants will write about their experience, challenging notions of aid and the guest/host relationship. They will travel to unforgettable places that illuminate the history of the culture. Upon returning home they will integrate this experience into a new life through a capstone project in their own communities; completing an experience that reciprocates service to others locally.
