About Program

Our 8-week autumn course will get you trained and assessed before Christmas, allowing you to work during the winter season. The course will take you through the BASI system; improving your piste performance skiing, developing your teaching and demo skills required to become a ski instructor, and in addition will include race training in gates, freestyle training, off-piste training, and avalanche safety training. The whole course takes place in Cervinia, Italy, on the snow-sure Zermatt Glacier, including the exam elements which are conducted by independent examiners from BASI.

Amazing experience

I had a brilliant time on this course. Lee and Dave are fantastic instructors who make learning both progressive and fun. Since doing this course, my confidence and ability to ski have improved tremendously. They are patient, enthusiastic and supportive the whole way through the course. A fitness session and a social night is organised once a week and these were very enjoyable and a great way of learning new skills.

On this course I also made lifelong friends. We finished the course in December and 7 months on we still talk regularly. We made so many amazing memories that are great to look back on and the pictures we took are awesome. There were many team building activities and over the 8 weeks the group became very close.

After the course, I had a brilliant time teaching all ages 3+ in Canada. It really was the experience of a lifetime and I couldn’t recommend it enough!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Enjoy every minute of it, take loads of pictures and make the most of all of the training time you get!
Pros
  • Life long friends
  • Amazing memories
  • Ski with amazing instructors
Cons
  • Lifts were closed sometimes (not the courses fault!)

Ski Instructor course Level 1 and 2

Lee, Dave, Sam and Katie are all fantastic people who I got to know very well over my 8 week course with them, they are all very friendly and always willing to help. This course was particularly helpful for me because it really pushed me outside my comfort zone in every aspect whether it be my skiing ability or speaking in front of a group of 10+ but what was so great is the that I never felt that I was under huge amounts of pressure because everyone was so friendly and supportive! I would recommend Snow Works Pro to anyone whether it be friends, family or even someone I’d just met, I loved every minute of it and hope to see all of the crew again soon!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don’t stress about the first couple of days a new setting can be stressful when you’re around unfamiliar faces but Lee and the team are very good at getting everyone together and bonding in no time!
Pros
  • My Skiing became noticeable better in less than a week
  • Had a lovely group of people around me
  • 8 weeks in a beautiful part of the world with delicious food you just can’t lose!
Cons
  • Sleep can be difficult in the first couple of days
  • Lifts can be closed fairly often depending on weather

Snoworks Pro Gap course

Before this course I had already skied for over 16 years and been a ski instructor for 2, even still this course was incredibly beneficial to both my skiing and teaching ability as the trainers on the course are impeccable and could teach a child on snow for the first time alongside an Olympian if they had to. Beyond that the time I spent in Italy was incredibly fun and the trainers on the course not only helped us through our Basi and finding a job overseas for the season, but also made sure we still had time to enjoy ourselves as a group. After this I went on to do a season in Japan as a ski instructor and although it was super fun and the snow/ social life was amazing, I also truly believe it was one of the best things I have done for my own personal development having the opportunity to live overseas right after leaving school and it has really prepared me well for whatever I decide to do next. Thanks Snoworks Pro

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don’t get too ahead of yourself. A ski season is a hectic thing and things are bound to seem overwhelming and unmanageable at times, but give it some time and everything will work itself out.
Pros
  • Deep snow
  • Great skiing
  • Awesome instructors
Cons
  • Unpredictable weather
  • Summer came too soon

The Time Of My Life

I was part of the 8 weeks course last year (2023) and right from the get go I knew it was one of the best decisions I’d ever made. Having heard of the course from a family friend I was eager to look into it and get myself signed up. Skiing with our instructor Lee everyday and having regular fitness sessions not only did I find my skiing improved greatly but it was also the fittest I have been in years! After passing my level 1&2 I had a great season in Japan and would suggest this course to all!

What was your funniest moment?
Throwing each other into the powder while on Avalanche training and many a snowball fight.
Pros
  • Skiing improved astronomically
  • Made friends for life
  • Overcame public speaking fears
Cons
  • Occasionally lifts shut due to high winds
  • Long time without family
  • Ate a lot of pizza

Fun good value instructor course

Looked for ages for an instructor course to do after alevels and this one was the best option by far both on paper and in person!

Great value with nice accom and food.

The smaller groups combined with great instructors helped me progress faster and understand ski concepts on and off the slopes as well as it making it easier to get to know the rest of my coursemates.
I’d really recommend the course as it’s a lot of fun as well as opening a lot of doors to jobs in Canada and Japan through contacts.

The instructors in Cervenia were supportive in our journeys to getting VISAs and applying to the jobs we wanted to go onto following the course.

Ended up having a great time and would love to do it again.

Best training course out there

Was lucky enough to go on this course after I finished a-levels and had the best time. I used to be a ski racer but this was by far the best coaching I have ever received and I saw my skiing improve so much.

It was very well organised and was able to enjoy the whole time. Met some great people who are still close friends now.

I’m sure it won’t take you long to find the yeti bar in Cervinha town!

Also received great contacts in the instructing world such as in Japan, which helped me get my instructing role.

Highly recommend to everyone!
