About Program

Catapult students into an out-of-classroom history excursion on this trip to visit ‘must-see’ relics and promote student-to-local encounters. From studying the individually distinct faces of the Terracotta Warriors to making traditional dumplings with a local farmer, students get the chance to be immersed in the history and culture of the Yellow River basin - the birthplace of Chinese civilization. Once a pit stop on the ancient Silk Road, Xi’an still holds remnant with its bustling Muslim Quarter and architecturally syncretic Mosque. Xi'an is an ideal out-of-classroom destination to explore both Islam and Buddhism.

Xi'an is conveniently located to offer unforgettable adventures to Huashan, a gorgeous mountain range famous for its picturesque cliffs, and the world famous Shaolin Temple, the center of Chinese kungfu culture. Geek out on history, get your heart racing atop high peaks, and try your hand at martial arts with WildChina.
