About Program

A tour through some of classical literature’s most inspirational cities and towns, this program will be a treat for the academics at heart, and a great way to get a taste of university life ahead of time!

Start your tour off at University College Cork, on the leafy banks of the River Lee. Travel northwest to the bohemian and up-tempo town of Galway, and stay in residence at the National University of Ireland campus. Head east across the countryside and enjoy the rolling hills on your way to Dublin, where you’ll settle in at the historic Trinity College. Next, travel across the Irish Sea to Oxford, the city of dreaming spires, and take up residence at one of Oxford’s colleges. No University tour would be complete without a stop at the alma mater of many Prime Ministers – the prestigious University of Cambridge, dating to 1209. Pick up the pace in the thriving metropolis of London, and check into Imperial College just steps from Kensington Palace.

This program is currently not being promoted on Go Overseas by its provider. Check with Blyth Academy for the most up-to-date information regarding the status of this program.

Summer of a Lifetime!

Choosing to go on a Blyth trip this past summer was one of the best decisions of my life! Travelling to such iconic, historic, beautiful cities and getting to experience the cultures of these places with fellow peers was an extremely enriching experience. I went on my trip alone, but by the time we were boarding the plane, it surely didn't feel like it! Within a few minutes of leaving my parents at the entrance of the airport, I was already chatting with those around me - everyone was so nice and willing to meet others, that it was easy to make friends in no time. We were a small group, which made getting to bond with everyone really easy, and we became a little family. The staff on the trip were super awesome and supportive. I took Grade 12 English, and my teacher was so knowledgeable, well-travelled, and helpful - he always made time to help us both inside and outside of class-time. One of my favourite experiential learning opportunities was when we walked to Saint Stephen's Green (a park in Dublin) and sat in front of a statue of the poet W.B. Yeats while reading and discussing a few of his poems. Many times throughout this trip, we were able to tie learning experiences into what we were seeing around us, which I really enjoyed. Overall, this trip was so fantastic and I could talk about it all day. I was able to make so many new friends, learn a whole bunch, and grow so much as a person. I would highly recommend it!!!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I know it's cheesy, but definitely don't be afraid to put yourself out there and try new things! This trip is so packed with fun that it goes by in a blur - you will get to experience so much and see so many new things. Make sure to prioritize schoolwork and reach out to the staff on the trip if you ever need help; they're there to help! Talk to everyone you can, say "yes" to opportunities, take lots of pictures, and most importantly, put the phone down and live in the moment :)

Best Summer Of My Life

Blyth Academy International Summers was nothing short of fantastic. My trip was small, but that made it all the more inclusive and fun. BlythAcademy makes you feel included and safe from the minute you walk into the security line at the airport to the time you are back in your parents arms at the end of your trip. A fun story of mine is that I travelled with a close friend of mine, but we arrived at the airport at different times, so I decided to strike up a conversation with a girl on my trip that I was infront of, and i dont regret it, since that dayy we have never stopped talking. All I can say is, it is almost impossible to sum up my month abroad in a few short sentences. So I urge you to try it for yourself. I loved this experience from the second it started and now I wish it never ended. I met seven great frineds on my trip, I am happy to say that we are still in touch and I can not wait for more memories to come. The advice I can give to you is talk to as many people as you can, try and make the best of your experience.

What would you improve about this program?
Honestly, I loved it. I found the balance between fun and school and still managed to get a good grade in my grade 12 english (92%).
