About Program
Our Summer Study Program in Martinique is a three-week French immersion experience for high school students (ages 14–17) who live with carefully selected host families and use French in daily life.
Mornings combine small-group French classes with thematic modules on ecology, society, culture, and history, while afternoons and some weekends are devoted to excursions: beaches and hikes, museum visits, cooking and dance workshops, and time with local partners.
Depending on the session, students either work with an environmental NGO on reef and mangrove conservation or explore energy challenges in island territories with professionals, culminating in a concrete project such as a podcast or a collaborative book.
You leave with stronger French, a real understanding of the French Caribbean, and concrete experiences you can talk about in class, on applications, and in future interviews.
