About Program

WHY MALAYSIA?

The Malaysia program is located in Sabah, Malaysia on the island of Borneo. This program started in 2015 at the request of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. Throughout the course of the first camp the program developed into a predominantly female team as the coaches realized there were few opportunities for girl athletes at this particular school. Since 2015 KLTW has been able to expand the lacrosse program to a neighboring school in an effort to create competition, involve more members of the community, and to expand the lacrosse opportunity for more children in the region.

WHY KENYA?
The Kenya program is located in Butula, Kenya near the border of Uganda. This program started in 2016 at the request of Bob Lwaili the founder of the Butula Hekima Academy school in an effort to broaden the opportunities available to the children that live there. Butula is located in Busia, a province in western Kenya known for it’s sugar and agriculture production. The Butula Hekima Academy is an orphan dominated school of 250 students from age 7-18. Since 2016 KLTW has donated more than 30 lacrosse sticks, built two full sized goals, and created a thriving thirst for lacrosse and social impact.
