About Program

The Trainee Instructor course is designed to kickstart your career to becoming an Outdoor Activity Instructor. Join us for a 6 month, full time residental programme in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. As Abernethy is a Christian centre, much of what we do is based around our faith and there will be plenty of chances to learn, grow and develop both in your career and in your personal life.

You will gain several National Governing Body qualifications and will work on the soft skills required to lead a group of people.

Some included training/qualifications are:
First aid
Archery GB instructor award
Child protection
Paddlesports safety & resuce, instructor & personal performance
Navigation & hillwalking trianing
Learn to Lead rock climbing
Mountain Bike Leader award training or assessment

Courses run twice a year starting in March and September.
