Why did you choose this program?

The Tru Travels website is vibrant, fun, inviting and easy to navigate.

They have a wide range of tours, all giving different experiences, so there is plenty of choices. Each tour has a detailed itinerary and reviews from previous travellers to help give an insight as to what the tour is like and what to expect.

I knew I wanted to go Thailand and experience the culture, and found the perfect tour: 14 day northern Thailand adventure.

What did your program provider assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

Tru Travels organized all the transportation, activities and accommodation during the tour. I had to arrange my flights to and from Thailand, but they gave me recommendations as to who to book with.

Our tour guide was really helpful and supportive, making suggestions as to the best spots to eat, drink and explore in our free time.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

Each day is different. Some days we would have the morning to explore the surrounding area or relax by the pool before it was time for our group to meet for the day's activity. Other days our group would meet early in the morning and have the afternoon to ourselves.

Each evening we would go out for dinner, catch up about the day and spend some time to get to know each other.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

I don’t think I had any fears going into my experience abroad. Tru Travels made me feel at ease with everything and they were only an email or a phone call away. The itinerary was well in hand and our tour guide was very supportive and helpful if we had questions or concerns during the tour.

It can seem scary travelling on your own, but by the end of the tour, your group turns into your family.
