Why did you choose this program?
I liked it because it is run by women, it is a small language school with personalized attention and they also offer Spanish classes, knowing Spanish is always a plus. The school is very welcoming and the staff were great. I loved the classes with Caro, she is by far the best Professor I have ever had. Best in the field.
What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?
They were always super helpful and accommodating. I felt well taken cared of. they answered all of my questions and they were super patient with me even though I felt very confused and lost at times and did not even know what I wanted, for real. They are great people and to tell you the truth, it was hard at first because I did not know anything about the program but they gave me all the confidence that I needed or was looking for.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?
Be prepared to study for all the exams, the written ones and the online. Take it seriously, try not to be distracted with the apps to meet people or new people from Argentina. I know it is tempting but you have to focus, at least at first. Be prepared and be early for your job interviews. This is a very important part in your new ESL career, therefore an eye for detail becomes essential.
What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?
9 to 10: breakfast, eggs, bacon and medialunas from Argentina. Absolutely amazing. Loved the combo.
11 to 4: TEFL classes. Be early and be focus. Do not be absent. We used to cover a lot in a single day.
4.30 to 6.30: classes. English classes to native Spanish speakers from Argentina.
Dinner, Netflix and novel reading, studying for the following day.
Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?
I was afraid of not meeting people of maybe being always by myself and I experienced the contrary during the program, I met people and we are friends nowadays. We had lots of fun but we always studied and helped each other. I met a very nice group of people. It was an amazing experience. I loved it. It is well worth it.
