Why did you choose this program?
I chose this program because private online Spanish lessons offer me the flexibility to learn from anywhere while receiving personalized attention. The one-to-one format allows me to progress at my own pace, focus on my specific needs, and gain confidence in real conversations. It is the most effective way to reach my learning goals while balancing studies with my daily life.
What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?
My program provider assisted me with the Spanish course, learning materials, and personalized guidance from teachers. They also offered support with scheduling and adapting lessons to my level. On my own, I had to organize my study environment, manage my time effectively, and ensure a stable internet connection to make the most of the online classes.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?
My advice would be to stay consistent and practice a little every day, even outside the lessons. Take advantage of the one-to-one format to ask many questions and focus on your specific needs. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes—they are part of the learning process. The more you participate and practice actively, the faster you will gain confidence and see progress.
What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?
An average week includes several private online Spanish lessons tailored to my level and goals. Classes are interactive, focusing on conversation, grammar, and practical exercises. Outside lessons, I dedicate time to reviewing materials, practicing vocabulary, and applying Spanish in daily situations. The flexible schedule allows me to balance study with personal and professional activities while still making steady progress.
Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?
My biggest fear was not being able to communicate effectively in Spanish and feeling frustrated during conversations. I overcame it by practicing daily, staying patient with myself, and taking advantage of my teachers’ support. Over time, I realized that mistakes are a natural and necessary part of learning. Instead of fearing them, I started to see them as opportunities to grow, which completely changed my confidence and attitude.
What was your favorite moment?
One of my favorite moments was realizing I could hold a full conversation in Spanish with a native speaker for the first time. It was a simple chat about travel and food, but it gave me such confidence and motivation. That small success showed me how much progress I had made and reminded me why I started learning Spanish—to connect with people and cultures in a more authentic way.
