Studying Spanish online with Instituto Hemingway was a truly unique experience. What was your funniest moment?

One of the funniest moments in my online Spanish classes with Instituto Hemingway was when we tried a role-play exercise pretending to order at a Spanish restaurant. I accidentally mixed up words and ended up “ordering” a ridiculous combination of items that made the whole class—and even the teacher—burst out laughing. It was hilarious, lighthearted, and a perfect reminder that making mistakes is part of learning!

My experience with Instituto Hemingway has been very favorable. They allow you to learn or improve your Spanish. Its teachers are very dynamic, empathetic, and highly trained. The class topics are very enriching and different, helping you in this way to develop your skills and put them into practice. My Spanish after some months is so good that I can not understand everything but express myself without any accent or difficulty. You can take classes from anywhere in the world. You can choose your own classes in private one-to-one. You also receive a certificate upon completing the course. I really appreciate this teaching platform. I highly recommend Instituto Hemingway.

What was your funniest moment?

One funny thing that happened during my online Spanish lessons was when I was trying to explain what I had for breakfast in Spanish. Instead of saying "huevos" (eggs), I accidentally said "huesos" (bones)! My professor burst out laughing and joked, "Well, I hope your teeth are okay after that!" It was such a lighthearted moment, and we both laughed about it for the rest of the lesson. It’s moments like these that make learning so enjoyable and memorable!

I've been to many educational environments and This organization is in a class of its own. The staff is very calculated and professional, the foundation and fundamentals are tailored towards the student so there's no one-size fits all approach. anybody looking to grow in the education space by learning a new language, I don't think you can compare a college classroom to what this program offers, there's no unnecessary electives thats required. Only pure installation of the language and culture.

Eduardo was the best ever teacher I could have, professional and at the same time with deep knowledge of cultural issues, experimented traveller and nice person too.

I would highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in learning Spanish in a fast and efficient way

The program provider assisted me with arranging Spanish classes, providing learning materials, and giving guidance during my volunteering in football. They also helped with scheduling and adapting lessons to my level. On my own, I had to organize my travel, accommodation, and manage my daily schedule to balance classes and volunteer activities.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

My advice is to embrace every opportunity to practice Spanish, both in classes and while volunteering. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes—they are an essential part of learning. Stay curious, ask questions, and engage fully with all activities. Take advantage of every moment to immerse yourself in the language and culture. The more you participate, the more you will grow, gain confidence, and truly enjoy this unique and rewarding experience.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

An average week includes private online Spanish classes tailored to my level and goals, combined with volunteering in football activities. Outside lessons, I review materials, practice vocabulary, and apply Spanish in real situations. The flexible schedule allows me to balance study, volunteering, and personal activities while making steady progress. Cultural activities the School programs every day is a plus.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

My biggest fear was struggling to communicate in Spanish and making mistakes while volunteering. I overcame it by practicing daily, asking questions, and staying patient. Over time, I realized that mistakes are part of learning, which boosted my confidence and made me enjoy the experience more fully.
