Why did you decide to intern abroad with Come2England?

The main reason why I picked Come2England was because I wasn’t self-confident at all and I thought I needed some professional support. Actually, I thought it would be nearly impossible for me to find an internship abroad.

Of course there are lots of opportunities in the internet, but having someone who you know is caring about you definitely makes a big difference. Besides, Come2England’s fees were the lowest I found, and as I had heard good customer’s reviews, I decided to give it a try. So, after calling them, I got involved in a selection process that at the end of the day I found very satisfying.

Tell us about an experience you had that you could not have had at home.

I was really interested in working abroad because since I was a child I always wanted to work in international environments. After joining my selected company in London I started to meet a lot of people. All of them came from different backgrounds, so the overall experience was very rewarding.

I got to know new habits and cultures, and of course I improved my English language skills. One experience I could never have had at home was to go out with my new colleagues to a place in London called Shoreditch. Shoreditch is an area where many art galleries are located, and the first Thursday of each month, those galleries open to public and offer free drinks! I always had a great time there, and actually it is one of the things I miss the most now.

How has this experience impacted your future?

Personally, during this experience I met my current girlfriend, so that might probably be the biggest impact I received! Besides, this internship helped me to fill in my CV and make it more attractive to potential employers. After one year, I have already finished college and I was recently hired by a very large international corporation.

Do you think I would have achieved it if I had just stayed at home with my old friends and family? I guess not. An international experience is much more than that, do that is why I think it had a very positive impact on my life in every single aspect.

What is one piece of advice you'd give future Come2England students?

I would tell them that if they are unsure about doing an internship abroad, they should just relax, try to learn as much as possible, and enjoy. Life is too short and at the end of the day these experiences help us a lot to grow up and start thinking in a different way.

If you are going to live in London, you must know it is a vibrant and gorgeous city, with a lot of different things to do and interesting people to meet. Go out at night and enjoy its great nightlife. Please, be enthusiastic about doing your internship. And, of course, don’t miss Shoreditch’s Thursdays!
