Day in the Life of Ryan Goetzinger, CCA-London Alum - Study Abroad student in London

Morning: On Mondays and Tuesdays, I left for my internship at about 8:30. The internship was at HSBC in their finance department. Wednesdays and weekends I would normally sleep in and plan out my plans for the day w.ith my friends. On Thursdays, we had class at 9:00. Also, I traveled a lot on weekends, so there were a lot of mornings waking up early to walk around whatever city I was in.

Afternoon: When I was at work, I would usually take lunch at around 2:00, and about once every other week, my boss would take me out to lunch. He would take me to his favorite pub, which was several blocks away from our office. The pub was a very traditional British pub. We would drink a beer or two and have a sandwich, then get back to work around three. On Wednesdays, I had an art class where we would go to a different art gallery for about 2 1/2 hours. I am not exactly into art, but it was cool to see all the famous works around London. All the other days we had free in the afternoons. Most of the time, we would either go to a market or head to a part of London that we had not seen yet.

Evening: By 5 or 6 pm, the group of guys that I normally hung out with would all meet back up at our house. We would usually go to the University of London Union (ULU) to workout a few times a week, then we would make ourselves dinner. We would usually go out two or three times a week. One of our favorite places to go was called Walkabout, and on Wednesday nights, it was packed with students. The ULU also had a bar in it with very cheap drinks, so we went there a lot of nights as well. When we traveled, we would try to go on bar crawls a lot so that we could see more of the nightlife in a city.

Highlights: One of the highlights of my trip was going to a Fulham- Manchester City "football" match. I am an avid sports fan, and I had always wanted to see what it was like at an English Premiere League match. Needless to say, it was the most exciting game I have ever been to. Probably the coolest sight the entire time was Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. It is a church that is huge and has a crazy amount of detail in the design. It is actually not completed yet, but it is a must see in Europe.
