What position do you hold at China Internship Placements? What has been your career path so far?

I am in charge of Stakeholder Satisfaction Team with an oversight responsibility to Programs Department. As usual, Our team is responsible to making sure expectations are met from Partner Company Perspective to Participants. Its not an easy role as Millennials expect so much from their study abroad programs. I must say that I have been at the client side of organizations since I completed my bachelor degree. Its been a nice job to pick up as a typical day is full of speaking with real people and helping them find a reason to believe we are working at their interest.

Did YOU intern abroad?! If so, where and what inspired you to go? What is your favorite intern abroad memory?

I am an American and I have had a feel of interning in China some years back when it was actually not very attractive. My family was then in Singapore. In China I must say, the culture is very inspiring and the people are hospitable to foreigners. The streets are very friendly as opposed to Mind-your-business attitude the west. I remember I got lost with a couple of friends and a gentleman devoted to bring us home instead of just showing us the way. I made some friends from other
countries with whom I am still in contact with till date.

What does the future hold for China Internship Placements - any exciting new programs to share?

CIP always comes up with very fascinating program components and 2016 is a year for massive roll out. We are spicing our “summer to remember programs” with a dinning segment with Senior Executives from various Multinational organizations in China. This segment will allow a face to face conversation about living and working in China. In attendance will be massive Foreign Intern community in China. There are so much more to come.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I can speak from my department’s perspective. I must say here that CIP is making strides with mega collaborations and university partnership because when they try us, we always over deliver. Most Universities try our Internship Services with few first time participants and as we don’t disappoint. This has been the reason for our progress. Our Partner companies also always get served with quality Interns who are professional in their dealings.

Why is language learning and cultural immersion important to you?

You will agree with me that the world is getting global although a cliché, is always 100% true. What this means is that Young people are no more restricted to their countries for good career. The pursuit of solid career launch is getting friendly to those who are fit to live at any part of the world. The solution to this is learning more languages and culturally immersing into other cultures rather than what we know. This way, it is easier to grab global opportunities. China Internship Placements (CIP) knowing this value, keeps participants always immersed and educated along these benefits.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have never been same since joining CIP, aside the staff training, my experiences with clients teach me volumes of lessons which I can’t get elsewhere.
