Cherrie is the International Business Developer for China Interntrip. She has helped many foreign students to find a suitable internship in China since Cherrie joined in China Interntrip. Cherrie always says: “For clients a thousand times over!”

What about the future of the industry? How do you think intern abroad and international education will change over the next 10 years?

The need for countries to increase their scope of import and export is constantly increasing; as such, international business will continue to flourish. More importantly, maintaining strong relationships with businesses overseas will be the foundation of this growth.

This alone justifies the importance of international education in the modern world. Countries with high manufacturing capabilities such as China can be further utilized to promote cross-border business growth. Over the next ten years, there will be even more opportunities for students to study abroad and experience overseas business culture.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Upon first taking over the role at China Interntrip, I initially consulted with my manager and outlined proposals to gather a strong leads for which I could convert into clients. Qualifying my clients to understand their needs and then providing them with a suitable internship program has allowed me to practice my interpersonal and communication skills.

This gave me useful, additional experience and also allowed me to gain a better understanding of international education and China’s dominant position in international business.

What does your home-country’s culture/value is taught in your program?

Whilst many things in China are constantly changing and developing, some aspects remain deeply rooted in the millennia-old culture of the country. In fact, in many countries, one of the things which changes most slowly is culture. Chinese business culture is completely different to western business culture.

As China becomes increasingly economically powerful any necessity for change also diminishes. Succeeding in the Chinese market means you have to invest time and effort into understanding how businesses behave. This is an invaluable experience that an internship in China can give you. China Interntrip aims to provide students with an understanding of Chinese business culture and etiquette.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

China Interntrip is constantly looking to add outsourcing partners, and more particularly offshore business partners, and, in doing this, focus on a defined set of needs.

If they can supply a service deemed of equal value, then a relationship between both companies is more likely to be a sustainable one. Whilst this criteria may not always be met, if the client’s definition of what makes a successful company is similar to ours then the partnership is much more likely to work.
