What is your favorite travel memory?

man feeding a kangaroo

So many, one memory was when I was traveling in India and found about about GVI. Taking the time to put aside the usual tourist attractions we got involved with the locals and their challenges to access education. Along the way I met an alumni of GVI and listening to their story was the start of my GVI adventures.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

GVI from the outside looks like a large organization with many different projects. The reason I love GVI and why we are successful is that no matter how far apart, we are all apart of the GVI family. Every staff member holds the passion and mission close to their hearts, working hard to achieve the best and that is why every GVI project is a great success.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Since joining GVI I have been given great opportunities to make a difference and inspire others. I work with some of the most incredible people and get inspired by every alumni story and person I meet.

What unique qualities does your company possess?

Daily as a team we stop and share a story that reflects our mission, this is a very empowering moment for all staff and also a great opportunity to thank each other.

Describe a time when you felt especially proud to be part of your current team

Managing our outreach team I get to attend GVI Open days and College fairs, these events are attended by our staff and alumni and getting to be apart of these events and hearing the passion from everyone makes me feel proud.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

I am lucky enough to read lots of testimonials every week from our alumni. Recently one that I remember comes from a ex-staff member who told the story from day one as a volunteer to an intern to a staff member and then to a GVI manager- all made possible by GVI. His actual quote was "people say volunteering is a life changing but GVI really made it happen for me and for that I am very grateful". He has now moved to another role to progress even further in his field.
