Anthony was born in Lima, Peru. He lives with his parents, sisters, niece, and nephew.

He met people from different countries when he was a teen, and since that time he has wanted to learn languages to be able to speak with anyone around the world. He is currently in the last year of a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Hospitality.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory takes place in Idaho, USA, in the Baldy Mountains -- I spent every day I had off skiing.

I loved the sensation of freedom when I used to go downhill skiing, the views of the white mountains and the small but unique city of Ketchum in the bottom were beautiful, plus a good playlist of music made my day perfect. Also, It was so special because it was my first time in a different country with a different language by my own. I'm actually the first one in my family who has traveled abroad.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have grown in different ways. First of all, I'm getting to know a lot of people from all around the world (a month ago we had people from nine different countries) which means that I'm becoming more capable and respectful with the difference between Peruvian and other country's culture.

Second, It is incredible that I am working for the organization that some years ago I used to be a student of. Being part of the organization, I can tell that the main priority is the kids, teens, and women of the community. Third, my English is getting better each day.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I'd choose English classes. Public education in Peru is not the best, it's sad but true. As I told you, I was a student of The Light and Leadership Initiative (LLI) when I was in high school, and by the last year of high school, I'd learned more from LLI's English class than from my English class in school.

What I want to say is that it would be really great for more people get the chance to study English for free. It will make a huge difference in Peruvian education for sure.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Passion. I strongly believe that passion is the biggest factor in being a successful company. Do you think a person can work for 10 years for the good of a community that she has never been to before? It can not happen if that person doesn't have the right vocation.

People come from different places to work/volunteer for The Light and Leadership Initiative because they have different vocations like designing, teaching, music, sport or just the desire to help other people in order to make this world a better place to live in.
