Florence Program Director

Jaclyn's two main passions are teaching and traveling. When she is not teaching during the school year, she is spending her summers abroad with the wonderful students and staff at World Class Programs! Her favorite part of being a World Class team member is sharing her passions for travel, culture, and learning, by giving students the tools they need to grow!

What is your favorite travel memory?

Although it is extremely hard to choose, my favorite travel memory has to be whenever I get to meet the students I will be traveling with for the first time! Seeing their anxious, yet eager faces, gets me the most excited for our future adventure every time!

It warms my heart to be able to ease their worries throughout the duration of the trip by making them as comfortable in their new surroundings as possible!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Throughout my experience working for World Class Programs, I have changed my outlook on traditional teaching methods. Although I find there are many important structural aspects to teaching in a traditional classroom setting, I would have to say the children actually learn better when experiencing the learning rather than being lectured at.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity I have been given at World Class Programs to show students what it is like to learn abroad. It is truly a life-changing experience.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I am the Program Director of the Florence, Italy trip so my heart is in Florence.

If I had to pick another amazing program we offer to go on instead, I would have to say Osaka, Japan. I have been to Japan several times (so I am a bit jealous of our Japan program director, Steve), and am pleasantly surprised for a different reason each time I go.

If it isn't the spectacular Japanese culture that impresses me, it is the cuisine that I can't get enough of. There are so many wonderful sights to see and so many experiences to learn, that there is always something new each time I go.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

World Class Programs stands apart from other study abroad programs because not only do we structure our classes to appeal to high school students, rather than the rigor that is involved in college courses, we are also able to adapt to unique learning needs by providing individual learning environments for each student so they can get the most out of every minute they are in our classes, and in our care.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe that our experiential learning method is the biggest contributing factor in our success as a company. Students, as well as parents, give us loads of positive feedback on the active and productive learning environments that we are able to provide for our students by actually being in the area that we are learning about.
