About Program

Have an adventurous, unforgettable experience of an authentic Tuscan lifestyle while studying abroad in Florence, Italy! There is no better place to find your inspiration and experience the world than in the birthplace of Western Culture. If you're interested in history, archeology, art, philosophy, and cuisine, Florence is the place for you this July. Along with Florence, we'll take you on dazzling day trips around the country to Lucca, Venice, Milan, Rome, Siena, Cinque Terre, and more! Bring your curiosity--we'll handle the rest.

You will live in a student apartment just a short walk from the city's greatest landmarks (and never far from the cappuccino you'll tell your grandkids about). In addition to popular attractions like the Colosseum, the Duomo, and a full beach day in Monterosso, we'll take you to the lesser-known gems of Italy and give you daily free-time to explore at your own pace--no tourists, just you on the journey of a lifetime in the city that will steal your heart.

Program Highlights

  • Admire the iconic Renaissance masterpieces at the Uffizi, Galleria de la Academia and countless other museums
  • Discuss philosophy where the most famous Stoics lived
  • Climb the Piazza del Duomo and watch the sunset over Italy, gelato in hand
  • Sketch Michelangelo’s “David” as part of the art class taught by our World Class staff
  • Have a rooftop lunch (and of course, a cappuccino) in the heart of Florence

An extremely informative and fun experience

I learned so much on this trip through the art history course and photography course. I wasn’t that interested in many of the art made in periods such as renaissance, but I learned so much about them and god quite good at identifying them. I similarly wasn’t that knowledgeable about Christianity and especially Catholicism (at least more than the average American) but I learned so much about it as well and really came to respect the ideas related to it. Finally I also knew literally nothing about photography but through this I learned a lot about different styles and the essentials of photography to the point that I think I’ll be taking better pictures for the rest of my life. This is all without saying the fun and incredible sights and art I got to see, yes we went to churches and art museums to learn about it but we also went to appreciate it and through that I got to see some beautiful art that might be some of my highlight pictures from the trip. Also the day trips to other prominent cities are so much fun and so different. Florence is a great base to operate out of and through that base different cities especially Venice and Siena contrast very well, Venice being very tight and of course featuring water, and Siena being very hilly.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Walking around a city only to suddenly stumble upon a great historical site or finding normal restaurants and buildings only to learn that they are more than often older than the United States
Pros
  • How much I learned
  • All the cool stuff I saw
  • Getting to see other cities
Cons
  • (A person to person thing) sharing rooms

Italy

It was a very fun program where they taught us a lot about Itlay and I also enjoyed it so much that I did it twice. They gave us 3 to 4 hours of free time almost everyday was definitely one of the biggest highlight of the trip. They gave us enough time to do what we wanted. The staff was always supportive and you weren't forced into doing all of the activities if we didn't feel well or didn't want to. They tried to make the trip the most enjoyable as possible and we're very flexible with what we wanted to do. We also weren't in just one city we went all over the Italy visiting at least 9 cities.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Bring a small electric fan that you can bring everywhere.
Pros
  • free time
  • Class choices

Italy 2026

Italy was such a great trip. I got such a well rounded trip. I learned a lot of cool stuff some stuff I liked to learn about some I didn't care for as much but yet I am still glad I got to learn it all. I also got plenty of time to do my own thing explore shop hangout relax. I also got to see so many cool places, 8 different Cities. My favorite part of the trip is that the instructors are more like friends than teachers. This is my second trip with this program and I love the instructors. They Genuinely make the trip as good as it is. They are the perfect amount of strict for safety and learning but also laid back for fun and stress free. I love these trips so much. Highly recommend.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don't be to afraid or nervous to go and join, even if you go by yourself. I've done 2 trips by myself and made grate friends on both.

One of the greatest academic experiences I have ever had

The trips you can go on with world class are truly one of a kind. Everything about the program is done so well to the point where the biggest complaint I have is the heat outside, which the program can’t control and was not even that big of a deal since the staff even think about that. From the beginning of the trip where they give you a gift bag with essentials like a fan to the end of the trip where you get to go to Rome. The staff always are making sure that your experience is interesting, enjoyable and one of a kind.

What was your funniest moment?
There were honestly to many funny moments that I can’t choose a favorite

Best study abroad ever!!

My study abroad experience was truly unforgettable, largely because of the amazing and easy-going staff who made every day enjoyable. Their friendly nature and sense of humor created a welcoming atmosphere that helped me feel at home even when I was far away. I often found myself laughing with them, which made the whole experience not just educational but genuinely fun. Their support and kindness made a big difference, turning challenges into opportunities to grow.

One of the most meaningful parts of my time abroad was the relationships I built. I connected with people from all over the country and these friendships became an important part of my journey. Sharing experiences, learning about Italian culture and supporting each other made these bonds truly special. These relationships taught me the value of understanding and empathy, and I know they will continue to be important in my life long after the program ends.

Beyond the social side, I learned so much academically and personally. The new environment pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and adapt in ways I hadn’t before. I gained knowledge in my field of study, but I also learned life skills like independence and problem-solving. This experience has not only enriched my education but also helped me grow into a more confident and open-minded person.

When my cousin threw up in the ocean.

Best world class ever!!!

My study abroad experience with World Class Programs was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, the staff was truly exceptional – so supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made the trip unforgettable. I honestly wish I could have stayed longer and did the 3 weeks instead of 2. I learned an immense amount, particularly in subjects like color theory and various painting periods, which has been invaluable. This program provided such a rich and immersive learning environment. Highly recommend!

What was your funniest moment?
When another student on the trip burnt pasta on first day.

Experience of a Lifetime

My son attended World Programs - Japan his junior year of high school and had such an incredible experience that attending the Italy trip was not a hard choice. He enjoyed the opportunity to have a more authentic experience than visiting for a vacation. Spending weeks in the community, local shops, and adventures with the instructors were a highlight. He is determined to move aboard and a lot of this has come from his experience with this incredible team of professionals. Life changing experiences!

What was your funniest moment?
He loved the experiences with the locals and making homemade food and cooking. He also loved learning the history inside the museums and on the streets.
Pros
  • New experience
  • Off computer for the summer
  • Perspective

World Class Tours Florence and Greece Program

I highly recommend this program. The staff was amazing, and the groups were not too large. They truly cared about the students, and it was organized and planned perfectly on every detail. Not an easy feat! The main thing was that they were in a very safe environment the whole time. They truly did an amazing job of mixing learning with enjoying the culture and having fun.

It was also high quality from start to finish. The accommodations, food, and excursions were all of really good quality. The staff cared more about the students than making money from the program, for sure!
