My name is Dalya El Maghraby, social media guru and business developer. I am originally from Cairo, Egypt.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory definitely includes Spain and Dubai! I did an exchange semester in Barcelona a couple of years back; it leads to the future me living in Barcelona right now! I also did an internship in the past in Dubai, which I found it an interesting place as well. But nothing beats the life in Barcelona, in my eyes.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have always been interested in the study abroad sector and love people. I found myself just in the right role working with WONE. My favorite part of my work is to creating interesting growth strategy for the company, while utilizing my personal knowledge and network to push the development of our program and brand awareness. I feel WONE puts me in a place where I can both grow and be useful.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The best story I have heard from a return student is the interview I did with a Lisa - she was a WONE intern back in 2017 and landed a career in JP Morgan shortly after the internship. I had a chat with her when featuring her into WONE's blog on this successful story. I was super happy for her that this internship transformed her career path and industry focus ever since.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to visit Lisbon or Amsterdam. Although Barcelona is always going to be one of my favorite cities in the world, I found it worth exploring to see Lisbon as it is a booming student city with an affordable cost of living! About Amsterdam, I loved the Dutch people; its food and culture somehow fascinates me to live there just for 6 weeks, like all the WONE candidates do.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

WONE is creative, happy and full of characteristics. I quickly became friends with everyone in the team as they are all friendly, and developed a close friendship with our chief program manager, Norah. I like the fact that everyone in the team is driven, full of seriousness and full of high-standards, but also knows how to have fun and enjoy life. After all, we are a travel / experiential learning program: it definitely needs a bit of both!

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

For me, it takes a lot of hard work for a company to succeed. I think WONE is doing very well when it comes to organization and vision. I felt this is a company to work for because of its ambition and because it always thrives to become ''different''. It puts a meaning to my everyday work because we feel like we are creating something better for our generation.
