Staff Spotlight: Rachel Dempsey

Rachel is a Dublin native who loves to travel and meet new people. She enjoys working with people from around the world and assisting students throughout their TEFL qualification.

What is your favorite travel memory?

In 2016, I worked and lived in Disney World Florida. It was the most amazing experience to create magical memories for our guests and to experience living aboard. I grew a lot both personally and professionally during my time working for the Walt Disney Company. Their customer service standards are second to none.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I am a very new member of the team; I started 3 weeks ago. Since I began working with The TEFL Academy, I have gained confidence in speaking with others via phone. I have always loved to speak with people and assist them.

In my new role, I get to assist students daily through the course. It is great to engage with new people.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

A student contacted me to get a PDF copy of their certificate; they are currently working out in Japan and it was great to hear how much the student was enjoying this new experience. It is also great to hear the plans current students have for their future after they have successfully completed the course.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to do the volunteering in Sri Lanka. I think it would be an amazing experience to give back and meet new people. I have never been to Asia and it is somewhere I would love to experience. It would be great to get to know the people and culture whilst also aiding the local community in some way.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

We are recognized in both the UK and the US. This gives more credibility to our qualifications and aids our students in their job search. The team is also very dedicated to ensuring our students receive fast, effective assistance when it is required. I am very proud of this and I believe our students are happy with the level of service they experience.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

There is a great team always ready to assist our students. The team is always on hand to provide support and assistance to our students for the duration of their course. The course content is also varied and gives our students a good insight into teaching English as a foreign language. We offer a free top-up course for every student as well, which I think is great.
