What is your favorite travel memory?
Traveling through small villages in Bali on a scooter.
Traveling around Iceland and getting a boat around the glacial lagoon.
Taking my first ever solo plane journey to Spain and spending everyday surfing. Getting my first surf injury and 14 stitches on the same journey.
Traveling to Portugal for two months.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
I've definitely learned to become more adaptive, resilient and if things change that I can handle it.
Working with lots of different students and personalities I have learned to be more understanding as everyone is coming from different backgrounds and issues. I've learned new skills too from people I worked with, like ocean and hiking skills.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
That they have taken a new love of nature that was developed from their time in Ireland.
One girl comes back every year now to Ireland and says she has found her second home. She has also started hiking regularly since doing the program. She was incredibly shy and unfit and says that her confidence and fitness has improved so much.
If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
European explorer program and arts and culture.
The European explorer takes people off the beaten track. They have picked accommodation that is really unique and artsy and places you'd never find on your own.
The arts and culture also take you to incredible heritage sites full of cool history and Irish culture.
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
They genuinely care about their students and staff and make an effort to get to know them personally.
When one of the students broke up with her boyfriend and had family issues, the owners personally checked in on her and made sure was ok and took her out for walks and listened when she needed to talk.
What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
Listening to staff and student feedback and their issues. They put a lot of time into building a program that helps their students to grow and develop and have fun. Being successful also takes having a great idea that people need or want.
Caring about people also helps create success.
Also having a great idea.
