What is your favorite travel memory?
That's like choosing a favourite child!
But if I REALLY have to choose... I'd probably say road-tripping through central Australia - from Alice Springs all the way to Melbourne.
Camping out beside Uluru with dingos roaming around and the stars being incredibly clear, exploring mines and sleeping in caves at Cooper Pedy, waking up to the bright red desert sky and driving alongside the spectacular Twelve Apostles along the south coast are all memories I'll cherish forever.
Thanks Go Overseas, now I'm Googling flights to Australia!
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
When I first joined, I was the classic bright-eyed and bushy-tailed newbie with lots of enthusiasm but little real-world experience in marketing.
Since then, I've honed my skills in digital content creation, SEO (or, search engine optimization) and influencer collaborations.
On a personal level, I've met staff and students from all over the world and have been truly privileged to hear all their stories and learn from their experiences.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
I'll do one better than that - two former students loved LTL so much that they came back to work for the company!
They're now both my current colleagues and have just as much enthusiasm for Mandarin Chinese as they did back in their student days. I don't think endorsements come much higher than that!
If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
I would absolutely go for the multi-city program in China.
Spend a couple of weeks in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Beihai learning Mandarin and exploring lots of different places in China? Yes, please!
I'd also opt for a homestay at each destination. Living with a local family means I'd get lots of inside knowledge at each city and of course, lots of amazing food.
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
LTL stands for 'Live the Language' and I really think that rings true at every level of the company.
Everyone at LTL is passionate about not only learning languages but also embracing the cultures around those languages. The homestays we work with allow students to experience exactly this, as they can delve into local life and experience the culture firsthand.
I've been proud to see all of the marketing team share this appreciation for different cultures and every single one of us has spent countless hours learning languages.
What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
99% perspiration and 1% inspiration!
And let me tell you - the LTL team are truly putting their all into making sure students feel that our schools are their home away from home.
We work hard to create a sense of community and I think that personal touch goes a long way. It's one of the reasons so many of our students return.
