Staff Spotlight: Petter Molin Wang

Title:
Director of Onboarding Support
Petter Molin Wang is the Director of Onboarding Support at RVF International. Originally from Norway, he studied abroad in the U.S. and later moved to Spain to teach English - an experience that sparked his passion for helping others navigate life abroad.

What is your favorite travel memory?

One of my favorite travel memories is moving to the U.S. as a high school exchange student. It was my first time living abroad, and everything felt like a new adventure - from navigating school life in a different language to experiencing holidays like Thanksgiving. That experience opened my eyes to new cultures and really sparked my passion for international travel and cultural exchange. It was a defining moment that helped shape both my personal and professional journey.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Since joining RVF International, I’ve grown a lot both professionally and personally. I’ve become more confident in supporting people through big life transitions and learned how to adapt quickly to meet different needs. It’s also deepened my appreciation for just how powerful cultural exchange can be, not just for the participants, but for everyone involved. Helping others start their journey in Spain has made me more patient, empathetic, and inspired every day.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

Some of the best stories come from people who thought they’d be in Spain for just a year - and are still there years later! We've had participants who fell in love with the lifestyle, built lasting friendships, and even got married and made Spain their forever home. It’s amazing to see how one decision to move abroad can totally change someone’s life path in the best possible way.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I’d recommend both the Teach English in Spain and the Study Abroad in Spain program - they each offer something unique. Teaching abroad gives you the chance to really immerse yourself in the culture, build a routine, and make deeper connections with your community. But the Study Abroad program is perfect if you're looking for a structured academic experience with plenty of travel, learning, and fun mixed in. If I could do it all over again, I’d want a bit of both!

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

What makes RVF International unique is how personally invested we are in every participant’s journey. Many of us have lived abroad ourselves, so we truly understand the excitement and nerves that come with it. We’re not just here to send people to Spain - we’re here to support them, celebrate their wins, and guide them through the challenges.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe the biggest factor in being a successful company is genuinely caring about the people you serve. When you put real effort into understanding their needs, listening to their concerns, and showing up consistently, people notice- and they trust you. That trust is what builds long-term success. For us, it’s never just about logistics or numbers - it’s about creating meaningful experiences and being a reliable support system every step of the way.
