What is your favorite travel memory?
My favorite travel memory is being in Bali with GLA as a mentor. After a long day of working at some amazing service sights, we got to hang out on the beach and play soccer with the students and some local kids. It was just such a perfect day and sitting there during the sunset I couldn't be happier.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
I have grown tremendously after working for Global Leadership Adventures. I am more confident about my role on this planet and know my goal in life is to support environmental conservation around the planet. Knowing I work for a company that shares my values and continues to educate me about the world is better than what I could have ever dreamed of.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
The best story I heard from a returned student was a student who went to A student who went to Ghana and her program touched her so deeply that she continued to fundraise for the initiatives she started there once she got back home. The program touched her so much she went back and spread the word and helped raise even more money for the service provider, which is just such an amazing story to me.
If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
My next dream program to go on would be the Galapagos: Preserving Nature's Wonders program. The Galapagos are such special islands that hold a variety of different wildlife not found anywhere else. We hear from students and staff about snorkeling with sea lions that blow bubbles at you, what more could you want!
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
Global Leadership Adventures stands out from the crowd for the amount of work we do to have great staff on our programs and how seriously we take safety. Every summer I am amazed at how our team can handle anything that happens because we are trained, prepared, and confident. 20 years of safe and fun programs is something I am always proud to share about GLA.
What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
The biggest factor of being successful is always sticking to our goal of making the next generation of leaders. There are so many GLA alumni out in the world now using the skills they learned on their program to be leaders in their careers. We continue to grow these leaders because we have the true belief that leaders that we grow today can change the world tomorrow.
