How did you become involved with Go Abroad China?
Luna: I had been searching for new employment when I came across Go Abroad China and going through their website, I felt that they were professional and that it would be a good chance for me to join their team and get involved in the day to day job operations. I realized there would be opportunity for personal growth and was ready to see how I could also contribute to the Go Abroad China team.
What is a typical day like for you at Go Abroad China?
Luna: I work in the customer service department so basically everything is about making sure our clients are happy and receive the placements that we have promised. Most days you will find me coordinating with different kinds of companies to arrange internship placements for our clients, making sure the job roles and responsibilities are fulfilling enough so that our clients actually learn from their internship experience. Besides planning suitable internships, I am also part of a team that coordinates with our partner language schools and universities, again to arrange placements and enrollment into these schools.
Name three places of interest a participant should definitely visit in China.
Luna: First choice might seem simple but Beijing really is quite worth it particularly for anyone more interested in the cultural side of China and learning authentic, standard Mandarin Chinese. A lot of the really important monuments that China is famous for are located in Beijing. Secondly, looking towards southern China, I think Hangzhou city is lovely; the weather is quite pleasant, life is a little slower than that in Beijing or Shanghai and the environment is covered in lush greenery. Third option would probably be Xi’an in Shaanxi Province, northwestern China. Xi’an is known for its rich history and culture preservation and would be great for any foreign visitors.
How have you changed/grown since working with your current company?
Luna: My biggest lesson definitely is learning to respect the client’s needs and arranging everything to their fullest expectations. Working with the customer service team has taught me a lot about putting a smile on the client’s face and making sure that when they come to China and are away from home for some months, at least there’s somebody to help make things a little easier.
What unique qualities does your company possess?
Luna: At Go Abroad China, we really do try to offer the best possible package at affordable prices. We are also quite flexible and allow for a great deal of customization to suit the client’s requirements and their own schedule. Our service delivery is hands on, and like any good company, we continuously evaluate where we need further improvement or change, again with the aim of ensuring comfort, professionalism and integrity towards our customers.
