What country have you always wanted to visit?

Josje: I have always wanted to visit Costa Rica. In 2012, I travelled through South America. After returning to the Netherlands, I soon decided that I wanted to return to Latin America, specifically Central-America. Since I am a nature freak and animal lover, the choice was easy.

Why is language learning and cultural immersion important to you?

Josje: For me, traveling is inseparable from speaking foreign languages. In order to experience and understand a culture, one must be able to speak the language of the people who are part of the culture. Traveling in Latin America without speaking Spanish would not be the same.

What language have you always wanted to learn and why?

Josje: I have always wanted to learn Spanish. It is a beautiful, passionate, cantabile language which is spoken on my favorite continent: Latin-America.

What position do you hold at Intercultura? What has been your career path so far?

Josje: Four weeks ago, I've started working as an intern for Intercultura Sámara. I help the staff with various tasks such as translating, marketing and writing. Every day, I get to enjoy Spanish classes at this wonderful school. Before or after classes, I work in the office.
