About Program
Hawke’s Bay, the region around Napier, is New Zealand’s finest food and wine destination, home to fabulous award-winning wines from over 70 wineries, as well as delightful fresh fruit and vegetables. High sunshine hours and a variety of soil types make the region ideally suited to the growing of fruit and wine.
This two week hobby program introduces students to local wines, to grape growing and winemaking, and to wine appreciation. The program has English lessons every morning from 9am to 12 noon. The students join in classes with other international students of all ages from the General English program. In the afternoons they take part in Wine Appreciation activities 3 times a week.
