I joined the 2-week beginner program at Oh Young Language Center, and it was such a great experience. At first, I could only say very simple words in Mandarin, but the teachers were patient, friendly, and very good at explaining things in a way beginners can understand.

Our lessons focused on daily conversation, so every day we practiced useful phrases for real-life situations—ordering food, asking for directions, shopping, and talking about daily routines. I liked that the teachers always encouraged us to speak, even if we made mistakes. It really helped build my confidence.

Classes were held in the morning, and the afternoons were free, so I could explore Taichung and actually use the Mandarin I learned in class. It was fun to practice with local people and see how much I improved in just two weeks.

I also enjoyed the cultural lesson included in the program. It made the learning experience more meaningful and helped me understand Taiwanese culture better.

Overall, I’m very happy I chose Oh Young. My Mandarin definitely improved, and I now feel much more comfortable speaking in daily situations. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants a short but effective learning experience in Taiwan.
