British Council Singapore

The British Council is the UK’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. We do this by making a positive contribution to the UK and the countries we work with – changing lives by creating opportunities, building connections and engendering trust.

We have been in Singapore since 1947 and every year, we reach out to thousands of students, educators, policymakers, academics, researchers, creatives and entrepreneurs in Singapore. Our work includes teaching English to adults and young learners aged from nursery to primary and secondary; teacher and corporate training, as well as a pre-school.

Our mission is to build mutually beneficial relationships between people in the UK and Singapore and to increase Singaporeans' appreciation of the UK's creative ideas and achievements.
