Familia Moja Foundation
Why choose Familia Moja Foundation?
We are a small, dynamic, growing NGO/Charity in Bwejuu on the South East Coast of the beautiful island of Zanzibar.
We run a Nursery School for 4-6 year olds at our fully owned and managed 2,800 sqm site in Bwejuu. The school provides free education, food and healthcare to local children from underpriviliged backgrounds who otherwise would not get the education they deserve.
Our primary aim is to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds break the cycle of poverty through education.
Our secondary aim is to provide free food and healthcare to improve the health and wellbeing of these children.
“It takes a village to raise a child” is an African proverb, which refers to the importance of the role the whole community plays in providing a positive environment in which children can flourish. We therefore work closely with the local leader (sheha), village community and the parents fo the children who attend our school.
