The Farm at The Vermont Youth Conservation Corps

Why choose The Farm at The Vermont Youth Conservation Corps?

The Farm at The Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) works to alleviate food insecurity in Vermont while training the next generation of agricultural leaders in the food system. We have developed an innovative CSA model that provides weekly fresh vegetables free of charge to 300 food insecure families in Vermont. Through this valuable project, young people on the farm receive comprehensive training in farm management, food systems, marketing, business planning, equipment and infrastructure, as well as food-insecurity and the charitable food system. They mentor youth and help them gain skills in communication, teamwork, and accountability. Our goal is to prepare the best and brightest for the complex and exciting challenges they will face as tomorrow's leaders in food systems development.
