About Program

Venture Gap is a twenty week residential program that runs from June 30 through November 14 on the Farm at VYCC. Through our immersive, educational farming experience, students will learn to think differently about food systems and deepen their relationship with the food they eat. They will grow vegetables, raise livestock, mentor youth, lead volunteers, and give away most of the food they grow to families in need. It’s a great opportunity to explore the world of innovative food systems and the beauty of a Vermont growing season. In addition to this important community service project we have also planned an incredible Vermont experience. Participants will engage with this beautiful state through weekly excursions: hiking, biking, fishing, visiting other farms in our region, and attending community festivals throughout their stay.
