FOCUS Climate Gap Year

FOCUS is a hands-on, boots-on-the ground leadership abroad program for young people who are interested in exploring the world, immersing themselves in climate impacts and solutions, and launching their own academic, personal and professional paths toward action.

As the first and only climate-focused gap year program, FOCUS capitalizes on the experiential learning opportunities a gap year provides while centering on climate change as the catalyst for learning. Our programs set students up with a deep and personal understanding of climate change on a global scale, as well as its effects on people and the planet. Students apply this understanding back to college study, career, friends and family, and wherever their path takes them.

As a FOCUS alumni, you will be joining a global network of emerging and established leaders solving the climate crisis and rebuilding democracy.
