Why choose Fundación Aantah Tulum ?

Fundación Aantah Tulum, main purpose is to provide kids in local schools the opportunity to learn the English language in a fun and responsible way. We started as a group of young people willing to improve the quality of life of the children in Tulum. We believe that education and values are the basis for society growth , therefore, we seek to expand this idea with the help of volunteers who share the passion of helping others, by providing all the necessary tools for the children who dream with a better future.

Great Experience

Volunteering with Aantah Tulum was definitely a once in a lifetime experience and a meaningful way to help the children in Tulum. Knowing that I was able to help make a difference in their everyday life and to be able to see the result and impact was very fulfilling. One other thing that I liked was that there's no teaching experience required and that I was surrounded by some of the most amazing people, the other volunteers as well as the Aantah Tulum staff were the happiest and most genuine people I've met.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I probably would've stayed longer but I had to go back because of work.

Amazing

The impact that has this is incredible, they are always taking care of the children and also trying to help them in any way. I had a lot of fun and also learn so much about the communities, they don’t have much but they will do anything to learn, even the smallest thing. The activities we did were all about learning but also we tried to keep the fun going with games. I recommend this volunteering because you make new friends from other places, and you will fall in love with the kids, they are so incredible and supporting

Opinion

I went as a volunteer and I really liked it because I like helping people and especially helping little kids to be happy by learning a new language! Many of these kids were really funny and nice to us, which created a nice environment to spend time and laugh along with them. My experience was really cool because I got to help little kids to answer their math exercises that were kind of difficult for them, I also helped them to learn many new things, I also got the chance to converse with some of them about their families and lifestyle

What was your funniest moment?
Meeting a lot of new children who were really cool.

VP Aantah Tulum

Hi my name is Roberto I recently volunteered with Aantah Tulum. I was on the Teaching English Program. In my experience volunteering gave me the chance to give back something meaningful to the children and the local community in Tulum. It was mind-blowing to see the children's enthusiasm to learn English every day. I discovered new beautiful places and the people were very nice and warm. I spent the most amazing time with the kids at the school. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to doing it again soon.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
My advice is to enjoy the journey, this truly changes your perspective on how you view the world. Their smiles are something that you'll never forget, the best experience ever.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memories always involve visiting museums of any subject, especially art. I love getting lost in the streets of new places, listening to the language of the place where I am, eating delicious food and enjoying the company of the people I go with, I think it’s an interesting way to really get to know people.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I think that working with children is always an apprenticeship; I am impressed that they still do not have stereotypes and they usually tell you exactly what is in their mind at the time; they speak the truth and make you laugh a lot with their occurrences. Seeing their shortcomings helps you see their needs and motivates you to give your best.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

It’s not a story but an experience. One day, we arrived at the classroom and a government program had just visited the school and they gave sweets to everyone. As soon as we arrived, we all ran to give us one of their sweets. I was touched by the fact that they wanted to give us, as they don’t get gifts very often.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

The volunteer program is certainly amazing. The atmosphere in the classroom is an unforgettable experience; the children have a unique mood, so you’re going to laugh a lot and finally, the experience of living with other international volunteers is the perfect excuse to make friends, get to know new cultures and enjoy while living in the Caribbean.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

In our team, we all participate to solve any need for the foundation. The attitude with which we go about every day helps to motivate everyone, including parents and children. We are trustworthy people and we are available with suggestions and improvements that we can make; we are aware of all our volunteers, and most of all, we have a true friendship that has helped us to achieve the goals we propose.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

To have success, the most important factor is the desire to be better in everything we do, always keeping in mind that we are influences in the lives of children.

I think the world needs people who are interested in other people’s needs and we have this opportunity together with incredible people who leave their personal needs to give others the most precious thing we can give, and that is "our time in this life".
