Innisfree Village
Why choose Innisfree Village?
Innisfree Village is a residential community with adults with intellectual disabilities where all members are encouraged to explore a meaningful and challenging life. Nestled against the foothills of the Shenandoah National Forest near Crozet, Virginia, over 40 adults with intellectual disabilities, known as coworkers, and caregivers who come from around the world, share a year of their lives together in a community and atmosphere of beauty, warmth, and respectfulness. At the heart of the Innisfree experience is life-sharing. Coworkers and their caregivers live, work, and play together, sharing the joys, sorrows, satisfactions, and frustrations of everyday living. In this close-knit environment, everyone learns from each other and community members can develop profound, lifelong relationships. Innisfree Village strives to be a model therapeutic environment that emphasizes empowerment, interdependence, and mutual respect of all community members.
