One Brick at a Time

Why choose One Brick at a Time?

One Brick at a Time is a not-for-profit organisation that has been operating in Uganda since 2009. So far, we have completed over 23 major education and health projects - impacting over a hundred thousand people - and have provided high-quality training from UK builders to 300 Ugandan apprentices, many of whom continue to work with us. We partner with community-based NGOs to develop networks of mutual support and we recruit volunteers to help us with our mission. This is allowing for social investment in the regional economy. We provide project management, well-trained local builders and everything required for strong and sustainable facilities to help to break the cycle of poverty.

We believe that the power of education can overcome inequality. All our initiatives adhere to this belief, from training future builders to constructing new classroom blocks, new latrines or clean water systems for schools, to providing volunteer teachers to work directly with our schools.
