Stray Animal Foundation of India

SAFI is committed to enhancing the well-being of India’s stray animals through comprehensive care, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need while promoting responsible pet ownership and humane treatment within the community.

India is home to millions of homeless animals and one of the highest rabies burdens in the world. The animal welfare infrastructure needed to address this crisis is still developing, leaving countless animals without medical care, protection, or shelter.

SAFI was created to address this gap.

Today, SAFI operates a comprehensive animal welfare program in Hyderabad, combining rescue, medical care, sanctuary, sterilization, vaccination, cruelty response, and education. Our goal is not only to save animals in crisis but to build long-term solutions that create safer communities for both animals and people.
