Young Pioneer Disaster Response (YPDR) is a non-profit organization founded to respond, recover and rehabilitate Bantayan Island, Cebu, Philippines which was severely damaged by Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name "Haiyan") when it hit the country in November 8th, 2013.
YPDR's programs and accomplishments include shelter, school rehabilitation, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), joint medical missions, livelihood training, community outreach and marine restoration.
YPDR aims to implement these programs using sustainable methods and the best practices whilst making certain the safety and storm-strength of the products. YPDR ensures safety, environmental protection and professional management in its operations.
Above all things, YPDR prioritizes respect for Bantayan Island's people and its customs. YPDR strives to work alongside the locals' focus on community building, transparency and responsible leadership.
