About Program
Young Pioneer Disaster Response is working on increasing the livelihood and living conditions of Bantayan Island's inhabitants as part of the rehabilitation phase of disaster response. Our current initiatives include developing a disaster risk reduction program for the entire island, rehabilitating and restoring the marine ecosystems in and around the island, and continuing our shelter construction project for families whose homes were destroyed by Typhoon Haiyan. Our goal is to build a better and more resilient future for generations of Filipinos to come. For YPDR, anything worth doing, is worth doing right. Sustainability is our focus when implementing programs. We need energetic, passionate volunteers who share our values. Our organization is looking for volunteers with any of the following skills: web design, grant writing, bookkeeping, info/data managing, media/ photography/ video editing or acting as a community liaison.
