Dear Hugo,

Thank you for your enquiry into employment with Viamonde.

Due to the type of care our Healthcare Counsellors are required to provide we are unable to accept EMT certifications when considering potential candidates. Generally speaking any Medical Emergency that may arise from a ski accident or injury is dealt with by a member of the resorts SOS or ski patrol team, the severity of a clients injuries would be ascertained on site and the client would either be accompanied to the local hospital or air-lifted away.

Our Healthcare Counsellors are responsible for noting symptoms and developing a course of treatment in cases of mild illnesses, they are also responsible for providing daily after-care for clients who may be injured, maintaining medical records pertaining to a client’s illness or injury, and understanding and assisting clients with prescription medication. To ensure we are able to provide the best possible care we are only able to offer this position to qualified and experienced nurses.

For further information regarding the Healthcare Counsellor position please visit https://www.viamonde.com/work-for-us/positions/healthcare-c….

All of our ski & snowboard counsellors are required to have First Aid and CPR qualification issued by a recognized body, your EMT qualification would be more than suitable in this regard, instructors are required to have an Internationally recognised ski and/or snowboard instructor qualification however, we do in certain circumstances make an exception when a candidate can provide evidence of being an advanced level skier or snowboarder (Prior teaching experience, ski racer, ski team member).

Kind Regards,

Lawrence Jackson
