What is the one piece of advice you would have for interns going on this program?

A piece of advice I would give to interns going on this program would be to explore as much as you can! Even though you may be tired, London is a big city and there are plenty of things to do and you don't want to miss out! Meet as many people in your group as you can and go travel with them. Go see different countries in the surrounding area (Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Denmark, etc.). And most importantly, stay in touch with the people you meet. There is nothing worse than coming home and getting "travel sick" and wanting to reminisce with someone about your adventures and not having someone to do that with. It will also come in handy when you want to explore your own country and you have one of your friends living in a city that you have never been to. All in all, have fun because this is truly a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget!

My piece of advice for future interns is to be proactive about their experience and don't be afraid to tackle things by yourself. There are plenty of opportunities for adventure in London, and the UK, but there might not always be someone to travel with. There's a lot you can learn about yourself when you explore on your own and I advise anyone to just take a day to themselves. You won't have to wait for anyone and you get to do exactly what you want for however long you want! There's also a lot that you're going to have to figure out on your own, so don't sit by and wait for an invite- find something that interests you and go for it!

Keep an open mind and make the most out of any situation.

Hi Jamie! Our GE alumni have provided excellent responses to this question and we agree with all of them. For further advice on living like a local in London, check out our blog that our London Program Advisor Jen wrote:
