How good is the language immersion?

Hi! I'm a pretty advanced Spanish student (I've been studying it for about 6 years, both in school and pretty heavily on my own) but still quite lacking in immersion. How good is the immersion aspect of this program? If you did it, how much did you find your Spanish improved? :)
The language immersion is great, especially in the host family households and if you spend time interacting with people other than other students in the program.
