Teaching or assisting with teaching English in Nicaragua

Posted by Douglas Redford 8 years 5 months ago

I am a Canadian citizen, and considering Nicaragua. What kind of credentials will I require to teach or assist with teaching in Nicaragua? What credentials will I require to take the TEFL training, and what are the costs. I do not have a degree, but some post secondary education; social service worker certification and some 2nd year studies in psychology and english. I am 56 and considering options to do something meaningful with the rest of my days. Your advice and insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Doug Redford

Hi Doug! This is a popular question, and the only credentials needed to take our course is that you are a native or fluent English speaker, and have completed a high school level of education or equivalency. The nice thing about Nicaragua is that an undergrad is not necessary, and they accept mature teachers. Also, the job market lends to a great deal of flexibility teaching both adults, and young learners depending on what you would like. If you register 90 or more days in advance, the course will cost $1699 USD. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
